Gown Shopping With A Quick Wedding Date

Most bridal blogs and planning magazines tell you to start shopping 8-12 months before your wedding, but what if you don't have 8-12 months? What if you and your fiance didn't want to wait to get married, or if your original wedding plans had to be changed and now you don't have as much time as you thought? Not to worry! We gotchu.

The pandemic really messed up a lot of couple's plans and it also kept brides from being able to shop for wedding gowns until it was too late. But let's be honest, it's never too late! Now more than ever, brides are skipping the ordering process and taking their gowns straight from our sales floor. We have always had a selection of gowns that are available to take home from our shop, but now we are throwing the rule book out the window and EVERYTHING is available to be purchased straight from our floor! Getting married in a few months? A few weeks? We can help!

If you have a wedding coming up pretty quick and will be purchasing a gown as-is, here are some tips:

  1. You're taking the gown as-is, which means that you can't change the color. Keep an open mind and try on that two-toned gown that you didn't think you would like. You might LOVE it! We do have options that are in all ivory, if that two-toned gown doesn't do it for you.

  2. You can always have the gown altered to fit perfectly! Every gown, whether it is ordered from the designer or taken from our floor, will need alterations. We have a full list of seamstresses that we recommend, so you're not left to figure out alterations on your own.

  3. If the gown needs some repair, that's okay! We have discounted damaged gowns that are fixable and almost everything can be repaired to look perfect for your wedding day.

  4. When you fall in love with a gown that you would be purchasing from our shop, don't hesitate! Many brides are in the same boat as you and that gown may not be there when you come back for it.
