Ok so this wedding was just flat out stupid BEAUTIFUL!! Everything about this day is my current obsession, from the fur wrap, the snow, the venue... ALL OF IT!

Becca and Peter had a modern, New Year's Eve wedding in downtown Pittsburgh. Their inspiration for their day was to keep the wedding fun, casual and convenient. The couple lives in Seattle and love nature, so they wanted to incorporate a lot of natural greens for the winter wedding, as well as incorporating the New Year's celebration.

Becca says she relied a lot on her amazing planners, florist, calligrapher and caterers to help with the decor and to bring her vision to live. She decided early on to keep it more on the simple side, since the venue was already modern and gorgeous.

For their floral, they used a mix of winter white flowers and natural greens. "Our florist was incredible and brought a lot of creativity while keeping the overall theme. I loved the greens in our ceremony which helped create the floating alter."

The couple brought a lot of personalization to their big day through their food choices. "Our food was served at stations focused on places/ themes that we've experiences as a couple- a Pittsburgh station for the bride's hometown and wedding location, a Greek station for the groom's travels there, and a "Sunday Night Dinner" station which is a new tradition of the bride and groom. We also had themed cocktails - one named after the bride's grandma, which was a fun way to bring personalized aspects without too much DIY work!"

"We wanted to keep to the more dramatic NYE party theme. For the bride, after trying on a few styles, she was looking for a unique dress with clean lines and comfort and found her dress at a trunk show at I Do Bridal in Seattle. After trying it on, it seemed like the perfect dress for a New Year's wedding in a snowy location. The groom is very into fashion and wanted a unique tux jacket and had hounds tooth in mind. He worked with the Tux department at Nordstrom and the jacket was a good mix of being unique but not too flashy."

Becca and Peter had met through mutual friends at a football game in Chicago. They dated in Washington, DC for 4 years and then decided to move across the country to Seattle, with their sweet dog in tow (star of the wedding!). Peter later proposed with a diamond that had been passed down from his Grandma, to his mother and now to Rebecca. His sister's even helped choose the right setting design. He proposed on Becca's family vacation in Delaware by surprising her (her whole family knew he was coming, except for her.) They were able to celebrate all week with family.

Becca recalls her most special moments, "We loved the moment after getting married when we went back to the bridal suite and had a moment with just us two to take it all in. Our family's speeches were also so touching. And we projected the ball drop at the end of the night which was a great way to end the reception."

Advice from the bride, "Decide on what 1-2 factors you care about as a couple (such as the food, or DJ, or location) and invest in those. If popular vendors book early, we had a positive experience asking them for suggestions. If you have vendors and know you like their work, sometimes being less detailed about what you want can led to a more creative option and something you didn't think of before."
